Setup Pinyin with traditional Chinese character input on Windows 11.
Windows 11 Pinyin input gives us to type Chinese character using US keyboard. However, it allows us to type simplify Chinese character only by default.
To install Pinyin input:
- Goto Language & region
- Click Add a language and select Chinese (Simplified, Mainland China)
- Just select Language pack, and the rest are optional
- Click Install
Now, once we switch (win + space) the keyboard to Chinese Pinyin, we can start typing simplify Chinese character by default.
Traditional Chinese Character#
In order to be able to type traditional Chinese character:
- Goto Language & region again
- Click on the 3-dot at the right of Chinese (Simplified, Mainland China)
- Scroll down to Keyboards section
- Click on the 3-dot at the right of Microsoft Pinyin, select Keyboard options
- Click General
- Scroll to Choose a character set, and select Traditional Chinese
Now, once we switch (win + space) the keyboard to Chinese Pinyin again, we can start typing traditional Chinese character.
